Through various activities in the Expo pavilion, the country wants to focus on the latest technologies, circular economy, renewable energies and other modern solutions
Lithuania intends to further develop its international relations in the economic, scientific and cultural sectors at Dubai Expo 2020, a senior official said.
“Our pavilion represents a fusion of traditional and modern architecture. Through various activities inside and outside the pavilion, we will focus on the latest technologies, circular economy, renewable energies and other modern solutions from Lithuania, â€said Austeja Brasiunaite, project manager of the Lithuanian pavilion at Expo Khaleej Times.
Lithuania is located on the east coast of the Baltic Sea with almost three million inhabitants. Since regaining independence during the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1990, she has participated in all editions of the World’s Fair.
“We are ambitious and try to stay a few steps ahead of others in the priority areas we are pursuing,” she added.
The Lithuanian pavilion is located in the sustainability district of the expo. The country organized several activities during the six-month expo.
“Lithuania’s calendar of events is filling up starting with events in the pavilion itself: small musical and artistic performances, business and scientific conferences, various business-to-business meetings in the industry, food tastings, start-ups and innovation presentations,” said Brasiunaite.
“Outside the pavilion, forums, presentations, cultural and musical performances are planned. The biggest and most impressive concert is planned for October 22nd, 2021 – our national holiday at the Expo. We plan to present a symphony orchestra with talented opera singers and a world-famous Lithuanian DJ. It will be a musical fusion – from classical operatic pieces to electronic music. It will be an unforgettable day, â€she added.
The construction of the two-story pavilion called Openarium, designed by the Lithuanian architecture firm Baukas, has now been completed. The installation phase is now running.
“Our pavilion is intended to represent Lithuania as a country that is open to creativity, sustainability and innovation. It will attract the attention of visitors with its impressive wooden structure at the entrance, which is decorated with colorful shutters with traditional motifs, â€said Brasiunaite.
“The world’s largest trade show will be a great playground to showcase our biotechnology, startups, lasers, renewable energies, manufacturing and other key sectors,” she added.
