The Pakistani naval ship Zulfiquar is visiting Germany as part of an assignment abroad

KARACHI (Dunya News) – The Pakistani naval ship ZULFIQUAR visited Hamburg as part of the foreign deployment of the Pakistani Navy.

On arrival at the port, the ship was warmly welcomed by the naval and air force attaché (Pakistan) Berlin and officers of the German Navy.

During the stay in the port, the mission commander Commodore Syed Rizwan Khalid together with the commander PNS ZULFIQUAR captain Rao Ahmed Imran Anwar called the chief of staff of the German naval command Rear Admiral Frank Lensky, the commander Hamburg naval command captain Michael Giss and the chief harbor master of Hamburg Port Mr. Pollmann.

During the interaction, matters of common concern were discussed and the contribution of the Pakistani Navy to regional peace and maritime security was recognized.

The mission commander also conveyed the good wishes of the Chief of Naval Staff, Admiral Muhammad Amjad Khan Niazi, for the people of Germany in general and the German Navy in particular.

Later, the mission commander and the commandant also took part in the wreath-laying ceremony at the Laboe Kiel Marine Memorial.

During the visit, an impressive ceremony was held on board the PNS ZULFIQUAR to celebrate the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and Germany.

Previously, PNS ZULFIQUAR took part in a bilateral naval exercise with the Polish naval ship ORP KORMORAN in the Baltic Sea.

The exercise included advanced maritime maneuvers including Maritime Interdiction Operations (MIO) boarding and force protection exercises.

The aim of the exercise was to improve military cooperation through naval operations and to improve interoperability between the two friendly navies.

The visit of PNS ZULFIQAR to Germany and the implementation of a bilateral naval exercise with Poland will further promote relations between the Navy and the Navy and make a major contribution to strengthening diplomatic and military relations between friendly countries.
