Trade turnover between Russia and Turkmenistan reaches record level – Business & Economy

“Unfortunately, due to the pandemic, we had to postpone several jointly planned cultural events last year. As the epidemiological situation normalizes, we will of course definitely hold the Culture Days and the Week of Russian Cinema in Turkmenistan, as well as guided tours of “leading theaters,” said Mishustin.

“Russia is genuinely interested in strengthening friendship, good neighborly relations, partnership and mutual economic development with Turkmenistan,” added Mishustin. Moscow wants to “strengthen bilateral cooperation and create the necessary conditions to resume promising joint projects and initiatives in various economic sectors”.

According to the Prime Minister, the two countries “have made serious progress in the field of trade, despite the crisis and global processes that do not easily affect mutual relations”. He cited data from Russian statistics suggesting that mutual trade increased by almost 40% compared to 2019 and amounted to around $ 1 billion. “That is a record for the last five years,” emphasized Mischustin.

For his part, Turkmenistan’s deputy chairman Serdar Berdimuhamedov stressed that the country “pays great attention to cooperation with Russia, and the main factor in the dynamic development of relations is an open and friendly political dialogue between the presidents of the two countries”. . “In his opinion, interaction is developing in all sectors.
