How do the German federal states fare in terms of educational quality?

Which federal state in Germany has the best education system? Which countries are improving and where is there still need for change? The annual INSM “Education Monitor” asks these questions (Education monitor).

The INSM Education monitor 2021

The New Social Market Economy Initiative (INSM) publishes an assessment of the quality of teaching in the 16 federal states every year, which considers all levels of education from kindergarten through elementary and secondary school to university and beyond.

The comparative study uses 93 indicators in 12 different categories – such as the average budget per student, the ratio of teachers to students or the proportion of younger teachers – to what extent a federal state reduces educational poverty, contributes to securing skilled workers, and promotes growth – and grades In the end, the federal states are ranked according to the quality of their education.

Saxony prevails
