Two EMUs will be delivered within 36 months with an option for a further 29.
The Pomeranian Voivodeship in Poland has signed a contract with local manufacturer Newag for the supply of two Impuls electric multiple units with an option for a further 29 trains.
The tender was published by the Pomeranian Voivodeship at the end of June and Newag won the contract with a bid of PLN 69.98 million (US$14.92 million) for the initial contract. The losing bidder, Pesa Bydgoszcz, made an offer of PLN 104.91 million.
The contracting authority can make use of the option to order up to 29 additional EMUs by March 31, 2023 at the latest.
The first two EMUs will be delivered within 24 or 36 months of the conclusion of the contract, depending on the configuration of the EMU.
If the customer exercises the option to order additional impulse trains, a separate delivery schedule will be drawn up, with the proviso that all deliveries should be completed within 54 months of exercising the option.
The contract with Newag is worth PLN 56.9 million net, which is remuneration for fulfilling all contractual obligations. The order value including the option for 29 additional trains is PLN 904.9 million net.
