From today vintage car fans will get their money’s worth, because a unique festival for women and their vintage cars is taking place in the Pomerania region.

Organized by the Classic Mercedes Car Club Poland as part of the worldwide Mercedes-Benz initiative “She’s Mercedes” with the aim of connecting and celebrating women and their successes, the rally in Gdynia starts on Friday, 27thNS In August, head down to Gdansk and stop at the North Harbor Lighthouse before heading 70 km from Gdynia to Puck Market Square on a scenic route on Saturday.

The event is open to Mercedes vehicles produced before 1995 and brings together 13 cars, including models from the 60s and 70s, as well as classic cars – from sedans to SL-Class roadsters.

A rare pre-war Mercedes, the W21 model 200i from 1934, will also be on display.

Poland’s only classic car rally, She’s Mercedes, now in its sixth year, arose out of a need recognized by the female president of the Polish Classic Mercedes Car Club, Małgorzata Przebindowska, the event’s founder.

She said: “I think what attracted women to the first time was the real need to spend time on their terms, with no rivalries in competitions and technical talks, but still in their beloved classic cars and in a cozy atmosphere.

In the rally, which takes some of the most picturesque corners of the Polish coast from flat meadows to winding roads to mountainous hills, the cars stop in the Puck market square, where they are presented to the public and the voting opens for the most beautiful car.Press material

“They are often better educated than men and are conquering industries that have traditionally been dominated by men. Their purchasing power is growing and they play a crucial role (in 80 percent of the cases) when buying a car in the family … our brand aims to inspire women and encourage sharing of experiences, but also encourages them to work in the STEM sector.

“In the factory in Jaworzno, 40 percent of the workforce are women, in the remaining 30 Mercedes plants worldwide the average is 15 percent.

The drivers then return to Gdynia to visit Poland’s most modern Mercedes salon, which features a beehive on the roof, solar panels and two roof meadows as well as Poland’s largest Mercedes star logo, which is almost 10 meters in size.
