Louisiana family searches for lost dog in Baldwin County after evacuated for Hurricane Ida – WKRG News 5

BALDWIN COUNTY, Ala. (WKRG) – When Hurricane Ida hit the Louisiana coast, Ann Lipps and her family evacuated their St. Charles Parish home and traveled east to Baldwin County to avoid the storm.

“We thought this would only take a few days and that it wouldn’t be a big deal,” said Lipps.

In addition to their three children, the couple also brought their mini-Pomeranian Bella with them on the trip. They boarded her at Fairhope, hoping she would be in a safer place.

“She’s beautiful, she’s cute, and she’s a member of our family. She dances when she sees you and she’s just the cutest little thing, ”she added.

But Bella’s going on Monday. The couple received a call that their pet had escaped, adding to the family’s emotions after Ida.

“The idea of telling them that they lost their home and are now losing their dog was heartbreaking,” Lipps continued.

This week they are reviewing the home damage while the search for Bella in Baldwin County continues.

“I just hope that maybe someone can find her and bring her home,” she said.

Their Louisiana home can be repaired, but the loss of Bella is something this family cannot accept. They hope to be reunited so they can focus on the rebuilding phase while they pick up the pieces at home.

Bella was last seen on Sunday at 32 County Road and 33 County Road in Fairhope.
