The Detroit family is reunited with the lost Pomerian after 10 months

Just as this Detroit couple had reconciled themselves to never seeing “Poe” the Pomeranian again, they were reunited after 10 months.

The pup ran away from their yard in an elf suit two days before last Christmas.

“I never gave up hope,” Starla Goggins said. “I drove up and down the street hoping to find his green and red elf suit.”

For a while they thought Poe had been hit by a car and might be dead somewhere.

“My whole family, my sisters, everyone came out,” she said. “It was our own personal search team. I cried for three days.”

They papered the neighborhood with flyers and searched for weeks. but there was no sign of Poe taking a walk with Poe’s partner named “Kuban” until this week.

“And I looked to my left and Poe barked at me in a neighbor’s backyard,” she said.

“It was like divine intervention, we wanted to turn right and then something told us to turn left,” said Jamon Burse.

“So I pulled out my phone and I was like, look at his little booty and his tracks and I’m like, that’s my dog,” Starla said.

Turns out someone had found Poe not far from her home on Detroit’s east side. He had been living with a new family all along and was renamed the Oreo.

It took some convincing, but the couple was able to prove that Poe was theirs, and the new family returned him.

“As soon as she brought him he jumped out and he and my other dog ran down the street like he never went away,” Starla said.

“We missed his spirit here,” Jamon said. “And to get his spirit back, he brought the house back to life.”

They’re grateful someone took care of their baby, adding to keep the faith when you’re missing a furry friend.

“The answers are out here,” she said. “I guess you’ll just have to keep looking.”
