7C Solarparken adds 100 MWp of advanced German solar projects to the pipeline

11 October (Renewables Now) – German photovoltaic (PV) equipment owner 7C Solarparken AG (ETR:HRPK) announced on Tuesday that it has secured project rights for two PV projects in Germany with a total capacity of almost 100 MWp Has.

This follows the signing of a letter of intent earlier this year with a German project developer with a 400 MWp pipeline to transfer potential rights to advanced solar developments to new companies controlled by 7C Solarparken.

The first two projects secured under this partnership include an 80 MWp project on an obsolete military site in Vorpommern-Greifswald district, Mecklenburg-West Pomerania, and a 16 MWp project on conversion land in Görlitz district, Saxony. Both could start construction before the end of 2023.

7C Solarparken said the projects could make a significant contribution to its plan to increase its capacity from the current 366 MWp to 525 MWp by 2025. As the projects are at an advanced stage, they can participate in tenders, with the German government recently announcing a decision to include projects up to 100 MWp in the auction process.

It was announced last month that Germany is planning an additional 1.5 GW solar tender to boost green electricity production and reduce gas consumption in the short term.
