Passport U lives on in Arizona…at least with the Arizona men’s basketball team.

According to a report by Eurohopes.com, Henri Veesaar, a 6ft 10 tall (but skinny) man, has signed on to Arizona to play for head coach Tommy Lloyd’s second year.

He is another in a long line of international players who have played or will play for Lloyd next season.

According to Eurohopes.com, the signing was announced on Friday.

His report said: “Veesaar, one of the best bigs of his generation, will join the Wildcats and share the spot with fellow point guard Kerr Kriisa, one of the best players for Arizona last season, and 5 other European players : Tubelis brothers Azuolas and Tautvilas (Lithuania), Pelle Larson (Sweden), Adama Bal (France) and recently signed Filip Borovicanin (Serbia) make the Wildcats the high-major program with the highest number of international players in their roster .

“Veesaar is a long and versatile great who can play in either 5th or 4th position in the Real Madrid system. He made his name on the European basketball radar during the 2019 Baltic Sea Basketball Cup in his hometown where he dominated the U16 tournament and got the call of the Spanish powerhouse for the following season. Last summer he was arguably the best big man at the FIBA U18 European Challengers, averaging 16.2 points and 11.6 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 3.8 blocks per game.”

With Christian Koloko entering this year’s NBA draft, Veesaar could be a good fit as a replacement for Oumar Ballo or play a little up front.
