Experts talk about bad credit / NPAs in the webinar series The Future of Banking

Today (March 4th) is the second session of the webinar series “The Future of Banking”. This session of the five-part series will focus on bad loans or bad assets.

During the 2021 budget, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced the formation of a bad bank to help banks clean up their books. But what happens after the bad bank and how NPAs can be handled in other ways is discussed today at 3 p.m..

The panelists at the meeting are former directors of ARCIL, V Bahuguna and ApnaLoan co-founder and investment advisor at Fee Only Investment Advisers, Hard Roongta. The session is moderated by RN Bhaskar, consulting editor, FPJ.

Bahuguna is an auditor and began his career in 1985 in the corporate treasury of an Engg. Companies. Then a commercial banker at MNC Banks between 1987 and 2010. Finally, he worked in the proprietary investment business for NPL / distressed debt in India and Nigeria. In June 2015 he became CEO and MD of Arcil, a leading ARC. He has now retired and is considering taking on a role as a consultant / advisor.

Roongta was a banker, entrepreneur, and financial advisor. He is the co-founder of Apna Loan. He is a finance coach who helps people improve their relationship with money. He heads Fee Only Investment Adviser LLP, a SEBI registered investment advisor.
